“In my solo exhibition, The Secret, I embark on a profound artistic exploration using oil on canvas, where I merge the contrasting elements of impasto rigidity and smooth brushstrokes. This union represents the spiritual journey I have embarked upon in my personal quest to discover the underlying motive of my being. Through my artwork, I raise fundamental questions about the meaning of the physical world, our purpose for existence, and what lies beyond the realm of the spiritual.
In my introspective quest, I have come to realize that true fulfillment in life can only be achieved by merging the physical with the spiritual. This realization forms the essence of The Secret – the understanding that there is a hidden connection between these seemingly different worlds. We can attain a profound sense of fulfillment and purpose by unraveling this secret and embracing its significance.
Through my exploration of texture and technique, the interplay of impasto rigidity and delicate brushstrokes symbolizes the delicate balance between the tangible and the intangible. Through this artistic representation, I invite viewers to contemplate their own existential questions and embark on their own personal journeys of self-discovery.
The Secret is an invitation to dive into the depths of the human experience, encouraging viewers to explore the mysteries that lie beyond the physical world and to embrace the connection of our spiritual essence.”

About the artist
Born in 1995, Rosemary Chamoun is a young contemporary artist and architect, currently based in Lebanon. Chosen with distinction into the University of Arts London for their master's program in Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries, Rosemary's plans took a turn due to the pandemic. However, this led her to participate in multiple international entrepreneurship programs, fostering collaborations with over 20 esteemed global experts from diverse fields.
This invaluable experience has greatly contributed to her current engagement in an ambitious international art project, set for launch at The Shed, in Manhattan, New York City. Partnering with renowned corporations, her aim is to create a profound and impactful presence in the art world and beyond, transcending boundaries and inspiring audiences worldwide.
With four years of international architectural design experience, Chamoun's work has made a unique imprint across continents like Australia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Additionally she got the opportunity to work on a culturally significant hub for a UAE metaverse platform, where she seamlessly blended art and technology to create captivating experiences.
From a diverse cultural background, including Lebanese and Ghanaian heritage, her journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Notre Dame University. Graduating with honors in fall of 2018, she showcased remarkable dedication and artistic competence, and has since been leaving a mark in the world of art and architecture.
Before launching her anticipated project in New York, Rosemary Chamoun is showcasing her early oil on canvas works in a captivating solo exhibition "The Secret", in her home country Lebanon, at Galerie Janine Rubeiz. This exhibition offers a glimpse into her artistic evolution and the inspiration behind her creations, from July 26 to August 11, 2023.
