Rached Bohsali
Born in 1957, Rached Bohsali lives and works in Beirut. A professor at the Lebanese American University, he chaired the Fine Arts and Foundation Studies Department for several years. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the American University of Beirut (1981) and a C.E.A.A. (Post Diploma) in Domestic Architecture from the Beaux-Arts in Paris (Ecole d’Architecture Paris-Villemin) (1984).
He switched his main hobby (painting) to a profession and since 1990 his artwork has been featured in collective exhibitions in Beirut, the Arab world, Europe and the United States as well as appearances in International Art publications. Awarded by the Prince of Wales and Secretary General of the U.N. as one of 12 Prizewinners of the World-Wide Millennium Painting Competition in order to commemorate the new millennium, he also received multiple other awards in other international art competitions. He was also awarded by the Shield of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture & Higher Education (Palais de l'UNESCO May 2000).
